BIRDING TOURS

Stubbe Canyon has long been recognized as a major avian flyway for migratory birds. During several weeks in the spring and again in the fall, more than 200 species of birds have been identified by visiting experts. If your passion runs to birding, we suggest a morning tour during those times where you can bring your binoculars and camera and see for yourself. You just might see a species or two that you've never seen before. Offered either as half  or full-day tours, with snacks and meals included.

CLASSIC RANCH TOURS

You can arrive as early as 7 am or as late as 12 pm for a half-day tour where you'll be met by our guide and introduced to the ranch's 150 year history. Depending on your arrival time, a continental breakfast or a picnic lunch will get you started where you will plan your visit. You can tour the back country by foot or customized Hummer, participate in the the everyday chores and upkeep of a family ranch, hang out with the animals, pick fruit, birdwatch, do some photography or rockhounding, pan for gold, or just relax with a book and enjoy the spectacular vistas... Or book a full-day tour and do it all.  Either way, good times are guaranteed! Meals, snacks and beverages are always included.

RANCHING LIFE TOURS

For those who want to get dirty, we'll show you how it's done.  Every day, the list of things to do to keep the ranch in tip-top shape is long one, and you can help.  Learn how to feed the animals, collect eggs, clean pens, and generally care for chickens, horses, goats, and pigs.  And what are all those weird looking turkeys doing running around loose?  Actually, those are guinea fowl and play an important role in controlling pests.  And how about those giant livestock guardian dogs?  You'll learn about those too.. and a lot more. Offered either as half or full-day tours, with snacks and meals included.

SANCTUARY TOUR

Have you ever wanted to spend your morning surrounded by the most precious Miniature Horses?

 

This is the place to do it! At So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary, we specialize in rescuing and caring for miniature horses. Each one with their own story, personality, and charm. Visiting the sanctuary is a wonderful way to support a Nonprofit that gives these beautiful animals the love and care they deserve. During your visit, you will not only meet our minis, but also the other animals that are part of our sanctuary.

 

We can tailor your experience just for you… whether you’d like to help with grooming take a peaceful walk with the Minis or simply spend time connecting with them. You will learn why we created the sanctuary, what rescue truly means, and you’ll leave with memories (and photos.!) that will stay in your heart forever.
