¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Guilmer!
When the foreman is also the ranch team’s Hermano, Tío, Compadre, and Jefe, no one knows what name to use when it’s time to sing Happy Birthday! Everyone just waits to see which title someone starts with.
Around Lost Creek Canyon Ranch, Guilmer wears many hats, but no matter what you call him, one thing never changes—he is the heart of so much that happens here.
If you’ve met Guilmer, you know exactly what we mean. He is hardworking, dependable, humble, and always willing to lend a hand. He has earned the love, admiration, and respect of everyone who knows him, and we are incredibly grateful to have him as part of our ranch family.
Today we celebrate not just an amazing foreman, but an amazing man.
¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Guilmer! May this year bring you good health, happiness, and many blessings. We hope your day is as wonderful as you are!
We have several fig trees here at Lost Creek Canyon Ranch, and the season for harvesting them is now. Unfortunately, the many birds that also live here like figs too, so sometimes our share is pretty small. The dogs like them too. Still, the ones we do get are healthy and delicious.

The summer months are undeniably hot up here, but our elevation of 2300' above the desert floor means we are typically 10-20 degrees cooler than downtown Palm Springs. Mornings are still beautiful and we often get an afternoon breeze after about 4 pm that keeps things comfortable too. Early and late tours are still available.
You've seen Poet before on these pages, but he was a lot smaller then. A LOT smaller. He's our Armenian Gampr livestock guardian dog that we we adopted when he was just two months old. As you can see, he's eaten a lot of dog food since then and at 10 months is now as large or larger than our biggest Great Pyrenees. Still, he's a complete puppy in temperament and drives the other dogs crazy with his constant need to play. Big as he already is, Poet will keep on growing for at least another year.
