It's the end of citrus season so it's time to do some serious juicing. Four lemons go into one cup of concentrated lemon juice, and 24 oranges make about 32 ounces of the juice you'll ever drink. At the moment, Linda has already put up 100 jars of lemon juice and 64 more of orange juice. It's a lot of work but more than pays for itself the rest of the year. Forget the store-bought stuff; this is way better.

Linda received a belated birthday gift from Don Joaquin in the form of this handmade swing. It's a great way to while away the day as you the watch the birds and the shadows creep across the mountainside. And there's plenty of room for our big white pooches to saddle in for a pat.

Snowfall in the valley? Yup, we get the white stuff a couple times a year, but it doesn't stick around for long. All the animals have puzzled looks on their faces whenever it starts to snow. What is that stuff anyway?

Another rescue horse has arrived, giving us a trio. Carmelo is 10 years old and comes from Ruby’s Purpose Animal Rescue in Paso Robles, CA. He's a sweetheart but is the slowest eater in the world. No gobbling down meals for him!
